Refinished U.S. Military breechloading trapdoor single shot carbine chambered in .45-70 Government. Features a fully blued refinish, 22" tapered barrel, single barrel band, pinned blade front sight, Buffington adjustable rear sight, single sling swivel on the trigger guard, serrated trigger, checkered fingerprint hammer spur, and one-piece varnished walnut straight grip shoulder stock with "U.S." marked metal buttplate. Markings: Breech "U.S./Model/1884", Stock a faint empty circle and "47", Lock "U.S./Springfield" & Eagle, Barrel V/P/Eagle Head/P. The rifle exhibits an old refinish that has turned to a dull grey on the barrel but remains brighter on the receiver and lock. Action is sound, bore is bright with light rifling, markings are good and the refinished wood stock is good to very good with several small blemishes.
